Well done allen on your new pb. Good angling. Well done Matt H on your captures last week including 'Starburst', one of our largest residents. Cracking fish.

Hi All,

As some of my friends around the lakes may know it’s been a tough year with my girlfriend going through it, having recently undergone her 6th operation within 18 month and with still 2 minimum to go, but worst of all watching my mum fight breast cancer. It doesn’t matter how old and tough life makes you there is nothing worst for a mummy’s boy than to watch your mum have to go through that.

My mum has been a big support of cancer research over the years; having had many close to us both win and lose their battles against this terrible disease. I myself have given the odd few quid here and there but never committed to serious fund raising before, however there is no time like the present!

This leads me onto my pleas. I am sure there are many of you on here that have been effected by cancer in some way and I would be very grateful if you support my fund raising bid

In 2 weekend’s time I will be attempting the biggest physical challenge of my life, the 3 peaks challenge. For the people that don’t know this involves attempting to climb and decent Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scarfell Pike in the Lakes and Snowden in Wales as well as travelling all within 24 hours.

So please comment or contact me if you fancy giving a little. I have currently got sponsors anywhere from £1-£50 and have currently raised sponsors somewhere in the region of £800. So please support me it’s for a very good cause.

Unhooking mats

Would all carp anglers please have a large unhooking mat and when taking photo's please ensure that the fish stays over the mat. Please keep as low and close to the mat as possible. Thankyou.

Pre-Baiting Up of Swims

Posted by Tony on May 8, 2012 at 9:05 PM Comments comments (0)

There has been quite a bit of pre-baiting of swims lately which is fine but I'd like to make it clear that you do so at the risk of someone fishing in your pre-baited swim if they arrive before you and you have no right to tell people that they cannot fish there or make them feel guilty for doing so, even if you told them you had done so. If the swim is free, it's free to be fished...by anyone. Space is too limited on both lakes to not expect others to go on pre-baited areas. There have been no incidents of visible friction on this subject yet but I'm just giving our policy before it occurs.

If you do pre-bait...shut your mouth and hope for the best!  :D
